Schedule a Consultation

Is traditional therapy not the right fit for you?

You are clear on what you need to work on, but need something different than the traditional model.

You don’t have the time to devote to weekly therapy sessions

You might have a challenging schedule that makes making it to weekly sessions impossible. Or you might be working with another therapist and don’t have time for multiple appointments a week.

You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing

You might have specific events or area of your life that you feel stuck in and you want spend concentrated time working on your goals. Maybe you can’t imagine revisiting your trauma week after week and want to make meaningful change in a shorter amount of time.

The Process

  • Pre-intensive consultation (free): assess if intensives are the right fit and discuss goals

  • Initial session(s): create a treatment plan and begin resourcing, typically between 1-3 90 minute sessions

  • Half or Full day intensives (3-6 hours): deep focused EMDR processing with breaks. Scheduling and cadence can be discussed during the initial consult. Depending on your goals, I offer 1-3 day intensives.

  • Follow up session (optional): reflection and integration 1-2 weeks later

FAQS

What others have wondered about EMDR intensives

  • An EMDR intensive is a longer, focused format of EMDR therapy, typically offered in half-day, full-day, or multi-hour sessions. Instead of meeting weekly, intensives create uninterrupted space to focus on trauma processing while still prioritizing safety, pacing, and nervous system support.

  • EMDR intensives offer extended time for processing without stopping and restarting each week. This can allow for deeper focus and continuity, especially when weekly sessions feel slow or fragmented. Intensives are not about doing more faster; they’re about creating enough space for the work to unfold more fully.

  • EMDR intensives can be helpful for people in eating disorder recovery who want deeper trauma work, healthcare workers experiencing burnout or vicarious trauma, and individuals who feel stuck in traditional therapy. They’re especially supportive when time, energy, or emotional bandwidth feel limited.

  • No. You do not need to have done EMDR before. Preparation and resourcing are always part of the process, and we move at a pace that feels manageable. An intensive is only scheduled if it feels like a supportive and appropriate fit.

  • Yes, when they are thoughtfully planned and trauma-informed. Safety and stabilization come first. Breaks, grounding, and pacing are built into the day, and you are always in control of slowing down or pausing. Nothing is forced.

  • An intensive usually includes time for grounding, EMDR processing, breaks, and integration. We begin by orienting to safety and end with resourcing and support for aftercare. Each intensive is tailored to your needs rather than following a rigid structure.

  • I offer 3-hour intensives, half-day intensives, and full-day intensives. Together, we decide which option feels most supportive based on your goals, capacity, and nervous system needs. There is no “right” length.

  • That fear is very common and makes sense. EMDR intensives are collaborative and consent-based. You choose the pace, and we check in throughout the process. You are never asked to push past what feels safe enough.
